What are we looking for?

We are looking for a highly experienced Database Administrator to join a dynamic, multi-project environment, working within the company’s core software layers. If you enjoy tackling complex technical challenges, diving deep into interconnected database systems, and driving performance excellence, this is the ideal opportunity to make a real impact within a highly skilled IT team.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in IBM DB2 LUW database administration.
• Strong experience in DB2 LUW Administration and Troubleshooting
• Proven expertise in Performance Tuning
• Solid experience with Linux environments (SLES, CentOS)
• Knowledge of VMware virtualization (user level)
• Experience working in high-performance / high-availability environments
• Experience with DB2 integration with Siebel or Cognos
• Strong skills in query, statement, and stored procedure optimization
• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience
• Good level of English and excellent communication skills
• Currently living in Portugal for at least 6 months

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and tune performance of mid-to-large DB2 instances on Linux
• Maintain and enhance core business datasets
• Adapt to existing frameworks and contribute to the design of new ones
• Deliver reliable, scalable, high-performance solutions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including frontend, backend, architects, mainframe specialists, and operations teams.

Working Model:

• Hybrid – 1 to 2 days/week at the client’s location, in a region near Lisbon.
