About the job 

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join an international team and contribute to the development of cloud-native solutions that support millions of parcel deliveries across Europe. You will play a key role in building and evolving scalable digital products, integrating systems, microservices, and business-critical logistics processes.

Requirements:

• Between 4 and 8 years of professional experience in software development, preferably within cloud-native environments and microservice-based architectures.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience developing microservice-based architectures.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native software development.
• Hands-on experience with AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, scalability, resilience, and fault tolerance.
• Experience with REST APIs, asynchronous messaging, event-driven architectures, and streaming technologies.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Experience with caching technologies, ideally Hazelcast.
• Frontend development experience, preferably with Angular.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and team-oriented attitude.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English is mandatory.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and integrate event-driven microservices supporting logistics and delivery-related processes.
• Build high-performance, scalable cloud-native solutions.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency and data quality.
• Develop and maintain APIs and system integrations.
• Ensure high-quality software delivery through automated testing and engineering best practices.
• Contribute to performance optimization, reliability, and maintainability of applications and services.
• Participate in technical and architectural decision-making processes.
• Monitor applications and continuously improve system observability.
• Work on digital products that directly impact the end-user delivery experience.

Working Model:

• Hybrid – 1 to 2 days/week at the client’s location, in a region near Lisbon.
